USE OF ATHLETIC
TRACK AND FACILITIES
The standards described below apply to all users of
the facility to ensure fair access and proper safety procedures are
implemented.
1. Track
Etiquette
·
The inside 2 lanes are to be
kept clear for fast track work;
·
Track users must always be
aware of other athletes when crossing the track;
·
It is necessary to clear the
track when resting between drills/training so as not to interfere with other
athletes training;
·
Resident athletes &
coaches have right of use over non-resident athletes and coaches, i.e. track
lanes are to be cleared when requested by resident athletes & coaches;
·
Bags, clothing or other
personal property are not to be left on the concrete area in front of the
pavilion so that they restrict clear access to the pavilion or do not allow
athletes space to stretch and warm-up.
2. Behaviour
·
All users must recognise the authority of officials from WLAC & WAC
and comply with requests that they may make;
·
It is expected that all
users give due respect to resident coaches and their athletes;
·
It is a preference that
athletes training at the facility are competing for resident clubs.
3. Facility
Rules
·
No ball games are permitted
within the boundaries of the facility;
·
Spikes are not permitted to
be worn inside the pavilion;
·
No usage of resident clubs
equipment unless specific approval is obtained;
·
Children not involved in
training should not be allowed to play in the jumping pits, the track or
infield;
·
Parents/spectators should
generally remain behind the track perimeter fence.
·
Dogs are not allowed within
the boundaries of the facility;
·
Smoking is not permitted;
·
Bikes, skateboard and roller
blades are not to be ridden within the track and field area;
·
All users are to leave the
facility clean and to deposit any rubbish in the available bins.
